I want to submit, but do not know if my work fits within the guidelines. What should I do?
Please email echolalia.journal@gmail.com! We would be more than happy to help clarify any questions regarding your submission.
Can I apply for an editorial role and submit my work?
Yes! Editorial and submission selections are conducted independent of one another.
However, due to the expected number of submissions for the 2024/25 cycle, we will be asking for your preferred role in case we are unfortunately unable to take all submissions and applications simultaneously.
How does the editing process work? Will it be a lot of work?
Echolalia strives to make the editing process as collaborative as possible. While we cannot quantify the workload, we can assure that it is a flexible process. If selected, you will meet with an editor to discuss the trajectory of your piece in relation to the theme and vision of the journal. From there, you will regularly be given feedback and the opportunity to make as many or as little edits. There are no set number of hours, days, or times you have to work on your piece or meet with your editor.
Why do I need to remove my name from my submissions?
We’d like to maintain a sense of anonymity when evaluating submissions. By not associating the work with a person who submitted, we hope to approach it with as objective of a lens possible. The focus lay on the work, not on our relationship with the person.
I made edits to my work but have already submitted. Can I submit again?
Yes! Please send your updated submission to echolalia.journal@gmail.com. However, to avoid excessive updates, please ensure that you are satisfied with your work prior to submitting.
Can I get an extension on my submission/editor application?
If you feel you need an extension, please email echolalia.journal@gmail.com with a reason for an extension request.
